Bayside Gallery presentation

I had the honour to make an presentation at 6pm Thursday 13th August at the Bayside Gallery in Brighton (Melbourne). This speech was in connection with the very successful National Gallery of Australia’s touring exhibition Max Dupain and Ansel Adams: In search of perfection.
There was a big roll up on the night — I would estimate about 160 people. The feedback has been that the exhibition has been very well attended — one of their more successful exhibitions.

The exhibition is open until 30th August 2026. Here’s link to the exhibition information.
A big shout out to Anne O’Hehir, the curator who brought this brilliant exhibition together.
As I said on the night, as much as you know these photographs well, we have all looked through the books and taken in the pages of beautifully printed images, but there’s nothing like the experience of seeing the real thing close up — and to be able to stand there and enjoy the beauty of photography.
As the former curator at the National Gallery of Australia, I know this collection well, but seeing these two great photographers again, but this time side by side, was a new and very enjoyable experience.
Max Dupain and Ansel Adams: In search of perfection is a National Gallery Touring Exhibition presented as part of the Bowness Family Foundation Photography Touring Program.
