Philip Bentley and Group M

A history of Group M photographers by Philip Bentley

Back in 1996, Philip Bentley, Melbourne historian, wrote a thesis on the history of the Melbourne photographers, Group M.

The thesis is titled: Deeper Feeling, Wider Vision.

This association of photographers grew out of a former group, the Moggs Creek Clickers.

Albert Brown was a significant in his advocacy for the establishment of the Department of Photography within the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV).

George W Bell went on to have a very successful life as an artist.
