Charles Bayliss 1879 panorama at NLA

Wonderful day in the National Library of Australia. A chance to see some photographs by Charles Bayliss.

Here’s some images of the 1879 panorama — being 360 view of Sydney from the Sydney International Exhibition pavilion. Bayliss was perched up the tower exposing large wet plates. There are eleven Mammoth Plate panels — it took three tables to lay it out.

Big thanks to the National Library staff.
