Research in the State Library of Victoria

Happy days!!

There are some beautiful places to visit and Victoria’s State Library is definitely one of them.

We were there on Thursday 5th September to do some research on several topics — and then take in some exhibitions.

Hopefully this photo has captured that smile and inner peace as I experience while looking through this book.

Paul has posted on his blog about a couple of the library’s exhibitions:

World of Books — click here, and

Searching for Sanctuary: A journey of survival by Barat Ali Batoor — click here

Now to dream of the next visit to the library and to be among all my friends — those wonderful books, magazines, papers and other precious items.

Oh Happy Days!

  1. Hi Gael Birthday Greetings. Ive just returned from a trip to Tassie and Cradle Mountain, Picked up a book at the Wilderness Gallery, Photographs by Spurlings, Christine Burgess, 2024. You probably know of it. Ive left a message with the publisher to forward to the author. I have a 19C album with Spurling full and half plate images she may be interested to view. Great book Ive also downloaded her 2010 thesis on the subject, she is a granddaughter of Spurling as you probably already know too!
