Gabriel Cafe on Gertrude St Fitzroy
Always looking for reasons to travel around Melbourne, we spotted a closing down sale at a hat shop on Gertrude Street Fitzroy. This being just down the street from Gabriel Cafe, 187 Gertrude St, Fitzroy VIC. Off we went!
We parked on Gore Street, the section between Victoria Parade and Gertrude Street.
While much of Fitzroy has been plastered over with mindless graffiti (along with the rare real public wall art), this section of Gore Street has been kept clear of Graffiti. Well done locals.
There’s a wonderful mix of historic housing with just about all the properties making the effort to have gardens in their small front yards. The street is a pleasure to wander along.
With the visit to the hat shop a success for both us, we adjourned for coffee and cakes at Gabriel Cafe.
And our luck continued — as they still had a couple of serves of Mango Panacotta — something not on their permanent menu. It was delicious!
A few photographs from along Gore Street Brunswick.

A good day out!
