Thirty one years ago I included comments about Tracey Moffatt’s 1994 series Beauty within an essay I wrote for Fever Pitch, the 1995 monograph on Tracey’s artworks. In 2024 as a cultural gift valuer I had the opportunity to revisit the Beauty series.

The ‘beauty’ of being a valuer is that while providing a service to clients, the bonus is that opportunities come your way to revisit works and to undertake new research. Thirty years provides an interesting space in time to relook and re-assess.

I can be confident that I will not be here to revisit these works in another thirty years!
