18 May 1872 'Vew of Hawkins Hill'; a large engraving of the panorama of the Hawkins Hill shafts. The claims are identified with key numbers, and photographic credit is given to Beaufoy Merlin.
25 May 1872 EHawkins Hill-view No. 2'; 'a view of a section of Hawkins Hill, showing some of the most remarkable features of that wonderful auriferous mountain. The accompanying illustration . . . is from a photograph by Beaufoy Merlin, Esq., and being engraved to scale, may be depended upon for its perfect accuracy.'
29 June 1872 Engraving of 'Pullen and Rawsthorne's Quartz Crushing Battery', çfrom a photograph taken on the spot by Mr Beaufoy Merlin'. The illustration is accompanied by an article on 'Quartz Crushing Machinery' and refers to the new fifteen-head stamper battery fabricated for Pullen and Rawsthorne by P. N. Russell and Company, Sydney.
2 November 1872 Small portrait engraving of Holtermann together with a lengthy biographical note, 'Perseverance Rewarded - Mr J. 0. Holtermann (sic) by Beaufoy Merlin'.
