{"id":886,"date":"2017-06-01T10:10:10","date_gmt":"2017-06-01T00:10:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/photo-web.com.au\/gn\/?p=886"},"modified":"2017-06-01T10:10:10","modified_gmt":"2017-06-01T00:10:10","slug":"william-winifred-bowness-photography-prize","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/photo-web.com.au\/gn\/william-winifred-bowness-photography-prize\/","title":{"rendered":"William and Winifred Bowness Photography Prize"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5><span class=\"caps\">MGA<\/span> Call for entries<\/h5>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1733\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theartmuseum.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/bowness_prize_online_orange_square_555_x_555_px_entries_open.jpg\" alt width=\"551\" height=\"382\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Entries now invited<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The <span class=\"caps\">MGA<\/span> Foundation has announced two changes to the 2017 William and Winifred Bowness Photography Prize: an increased prize of $30,000 for the winning work and, for the first time in the history of the prize, <span class=\"caps\">MGA<\/span> will acquire the winning entry.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"quo\">\u2018<\/span>The prize money goes to one individual rather than being distributed through a&nbsp;range of different nominations and commendations, which often happens with prizes. It\u2019s a&nbsp;sum of money that can actually make a&nbsp;significant difference to one artist\u2019s working life,\u2019 said Stephen Zagala, <span class=\"caps\">MGA<\/span> Senior Curator and 2017&nbsp;judge.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Judging panel<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s panel consists of Australian architect, art patron and academic <strong>Corbett Lyon<\/strong>, artist and educator&nbsp;<strong>Dr<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Susan Fereday<\/strong>, and <span class=\"caps\">MGA<\/span> Senior Curator <strong>Stephen Zagala<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key
