Frank Hurley was a passionate gardener and a collector of Australian native plants.
He constructed a complex garden at his house at Collaroy Plateau with an amazing selection of plants collected from across Australia.
The photographs below are a sample of his flower photographs taken from original transparances.
The transparencies had colour shifted and had to be reworked once scanned.
Prints from these digitally corrected transparencies are now part of the collection of the Many Art Gallery.
The original transparencies have been donated to the National Library of Australia. |
